Definition (English):

Curiosity-driven exploration uses intrinsic motivation (novelty, information gain) to encourage agents to explore unfamiliar states, even without external rewards. ICM (Intrinsic Curiosity Module) predicts prediction error as curiosity signal. RND (Random Network Distillation) uses random network outputs as novelty detector. This solves sparse-reward problems where extrinsic rewards are rare.
