Object detection architectures combine a backbone feature extractor (ResNet, EfficientNet, ViT), a neck for multi-scale features (FPN, BiFPN), and a detection head. Two-stage detectors (Faster R-CNN) first propose regions then classify. One-stage detectors (YOLO, SSD) directly predict boxes and classes. YOLO variants (v5-v10, YOLO-World) dominate real-time detection for autonomous driving, surveillance, and robotics.
