NPUs are specialized processors for neural network inference, found in smartphones (Apple Neural Engine, Qualcomm Hexagon), laptops, and edge devices. They optimize for low-power, low-latency inference using fixed-function hardware for common operations (convolution, matrix multiply). NPUs enable on-device AI: face recognition, voice assistants, real-time translation, and computational photography.

NPU là bộ xử lý chuyên biệt cho suy luận mạng nơ-ron, có trong điện thoại thông minh (Apple Neural Engine, Qualcomm Hexagon), laptop và thiết bị edge. Chúng tối ưu cho suy luận công suất thấp, độ trễ thấp bằng phần cứng hàm cố định cho phép toán phổ biến (tích chập, nhân ma trận). NPU cho phép AI trên thiết bị: nhận dạng khuôn mặt, trợ lý giọng nói, dịch thời gian thực và nhiếp ảnh tính toán.
