Edge computing is a distributed computing paradigm that brings computation and data storage closer to the sources of data. This reduces latency and bandwidth usage, enabling real-time processing. In AI applications, edge computing allows machine learning models to run on local devices (smartphones, IoT sensors, industrial equipment) rather than relying on cloud servers, enabling faster response times and improved privacy.

Điện toán biên là paradim điện toán phân tán đưa tính toán và lưu trữ dữ liệu đến gần hơn với nguồn dữ liệu. Điều này giảm độ trễ và sử dụng băng thông, cho phép xử lý thời gian thực. Trong ứng dụng AI, điện toán biên cho phép mô hình học máy chạy trên thiết bị cục bộ (điện thoại thông minh, cảm biến IoT, thiết bị công nghiệp) thay vì dựa vào máy chủ đám mây, cho phép thời gian phản hồi nhanh hơn và quyền riêng tư được cải thiện.
