Definition (English):

Uniform Manifold Approximation and Projection is a dimensionality reduction technique similar to t-SNE but faster and better at preserving global structure. UMAP is grounded in Riemannian geometry and algebraic topology, providing a more theoretically grounded approach. It is used for visualization, clustering, and as a preprocessing step. UMAP scales better to large datasets and can be used for supervised and semi-supervised reduction.
